《新興微生物與感染》(EMI)作為一份國際同行評議期刊，其使命是提供一個新的綜合論壇，以便及時傳播收集到的大量有關(guān)微生物和感染的信息，特別是那些與日益增加的生物學(xué)和臨床意義以及致病頻率相關(guān)的信息。這些信息的絕對數(shù)量和復(fù)雜性已經(jīng)超出了現(xiàn)有專業(yè)期刊的規(guī)模和范圍，因此EMI致力于彌合發(fā)達(dá)國家和發(fā)展中國家科學(xué)界之間的差距。近年來，大多數(shù)新興微生物和感染都發(fā)生在發(fā)展中國家。EMI將涵蓋具有重要生物學(xué)和臨床價值的相關(guān)主題，包括但不限于:疫情監(jiān)控;臨床表現(xiàn);診斷和管理;細(xì)胞和分子發(fā)病機(jī)制;新生微生物及其宿主之間的先天和后天免疫反應(yīng);藥物發(fā)現(xiàn),疫苗開發(fā)EMI將為微生物學(xué)家、臨床醫(yī)生、公共衛(wèi)生工作者、藥物和疫苗開發(fā)人員以及決策者提供最新的知識，包括世界各地不同國家和地區(qū)出現(xiàn)的微生物和感染。

As an international peer reviewed journal, the mission of Emerging Microbes & Infections (EMI) is to provide a new integrated forum to allow for the timely dissemination of large amount of information gathered about microbes and infections, especially ones associated with increasing biological and clinical significance and pathogenic frequency.The sheer volume and complexity of such information has gone beyond the scale and scope of existing specialty journals, and thus EMI is committed to bridging the gap between scientific communities in developed and developing countries where most of the emerging microbes and infections have occurred in recent years.EMI will cover relevant topics of critical biological and clinical value including, but not limited to:epidemic surveillance;clinical manifestation;diagnosis and management;cellular and molecular pathogenesis;innate and acquired immune responses between emerging microbes and their hosts;drug discovery, andvaccine developmentEMI will serve microbiologists, clinicians, public health workers, drug and vaccine developers, as well as policy makers by providing them with updated knowledge encompassing microbes and infections emerging in different countries and regions throughout the world.
