The first journal to focus on the fetus as a patient, ?Fetal Diagnosis and Therapyí provides a wide range of biomedical specialists with a unique single source of reports aimed at ameliorating and/or preventing congenital abnormalities. Original papers cover both basic research and clinical investigations into all aspects of fetal diagnosis leading to therapy, including relevant technical advances and procedures. With its emphasis on presenting experimental treatment protocols and recording early clinical experiences in a comparatively new field, the journal is destined to play a major role in setting the pace for future study including areas such as stem cell and gene therapy in utero. Attention is also given to the controversial moral and ethical issues involved in intrauterine intervention, the legal rights of the fetus and new concepts of fetal behaviour.
