《中國通信》創刊于2004年，期刊總編輯為兩院院士、北京郵電大學教授陳俊亮。2008年起，應廣大讀者需求期刊由純英文版變更為中英文雙語版。中英文刊的出版目標是成為我國通信行業最具影響力的，有學術特色的綜合性期刊。中英文刊立足于我國信息通信業發展大局，積極開展海內外學術交流，及時反映海內外最新研究成果。

　　《中國通信》(ChinaCommunications)(月刊)是由中國科學技術協會主管，在工業和信息化部的指導下，由中國通信學會主辦的高層次學術期刊。《中國通信》邀請國內外通信領域極具權威、極具影響力的學者專家組成編輯委員會，共同塑造高水平、優質量、高學術價值的期刊。

　　《中國通信》肩負著促進我國信息通信行業學術地位的提升，促進國內外學術交流，弘揚自主創新精神等重要使命，代表著中國通信學術界與產業界的水平，具有很強的權威性和廣泛的國際影響力。

　　2007年，《中國通信》被科學引文索引擴展版(SCIE)收錄，正式成為全球頂級SCI源期刊。2008年，中國通信學會與國際電氣和電子工程師協會通信分會(IEEEComSoc)就《中國通信》倡議合作簽署了諒解備忘錄。

　　《中國通信》詳實地向讀者介紹國內外信息與通信領域學術研究、科技成果、業務應用、動態等。
